TITLE: Field Supervisor (Seasonal)
POSITION NUMBER: 8140928
DEPARTMENT: Parks
HIRING RANGE: $12.00-$13.89 hourly
HOURS: Approximately 12-15 hours per week
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for overseeing adult softball games to maintain organized structures; assists in communication between softball teams and program administration staff; monitors behavior of program umpires, coaches, participants, and spectators; maintains records of game officials, results, and rules violations; interacts with participants and answers general questions; coordinates with park staff for inclement weather situations.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma and some experience in recreation league programs as a scorekeeper, referee, umpire or league official; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

TITLE: Data Collector (Temporary position not to exceed two years)
POSITION NUMBER: 1410901, 1410902, & 1410903
DEPARTMENT: Tax Administration (Revaluation)
HIRING RANGE: $16.08-$18.62 hourly
HOURS: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, M-F
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for measuring and diagramming of real property for assessment purposes; conducts field investigations; prepares, maintains, and processes reports and files; locates dwelling to be measured for assessment purposes; informs taxpayers of presence on property and explains purpose of visit; measures property and takes photo of improvements; prepares sketches of dwellings, including additions or modifications, in sufficient detail to calculate total square footage; completes appropriate worksheets for properties visited; assists the general public with inquiries related to property evaluation and real estate practices; works with county’s computerized systems.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires high school diploma and some experience in real estate practices, property evaluation, technical drawing, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Some knowledge of the principles and practices of real estate appraising for assessment purposes, of building construction practices, and of building and land values. Skill in use of tools and equipment involved in assessment activities and in freehand drawing. Ability to read and understand building construction plans and specifications, to write clear and concise reports, to use mechanical lettering, to use drafting instruments, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public. Must have a valid NC Driver’s License.

TITLE: Social Work Supervisor III
POSITION NUMBER: 5630073
DEPARTMENT: Social Services
HIRING RANGE: $49,445.07 - $57,242.28 annually
HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M – F; after hours and flexible schedule
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position supervises the day to day operations and decision making of a unit of Child Placement staff. A strong working knowledge of all areas of child welfare is needed for this position. The supervisor participates and guides staff regarding Child & Family Teams, Permanency Planning Action Teams, court, placement case work and community resources. Coaches and guides staff toward achieving agency and division outcomes/objectives. Participates in or makes recommendations for hiring, performance evaluations and discipline. Periodically serves as on-call supervisor. Reviews files for quality, worker performance and adherence to county, state, and federal policies.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and three years of social work or counseling experience; or a Master’s degree in counseling and three years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and four years of experience. Require valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation and computer skills. Prefer one year experience in a NC Department of Social Services agency and NC pre-service training. Ability to speak Spanish is desirable. After hours work and weekends are periodically required.

TITLE: Building Maintenance Mechanic
POSITION NUMBER: 1951002
DEPARTMENT: General Services
HIRING RANGE: $30,355.35-$35,141.21 annually
HOURS: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM, M-F
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for general building maintenance to include carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical maintenance and repair tasks; constructs, repairs and maintains street, building, parking lot, and other signage; builds furniture and cabinets; picks up and delivers furniture and supplies; prepares meeting rooms; assists with snow and ice removes; pulls telephone and computer cables; performs related tasks as required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma and considerable experience as a semiskilled or skilled worker in the maintenance, repair and/or construction field. Experience in sign fabrication and maintenance preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. General knowledge of the use of common hand and specialized power tools; general knowledge of the safe use and operation and preventive maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment; basic computer skills; ability to follow instructions and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. Must have a valid NC Driver’s License.

TITLE: Social Worker III
POSITION NUMBER: 5630060
DEPARTMENT: Social Services
HIRING RANGE: $40,679.92-$47,079.03 annually
HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, M-F; some after hours
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for providing foster care services for children in one of three Placement Units. Average caseload is 15 children who have been removed from their home due to abuse, neglect or dependency and/or who are involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice; responsible for providing individual counseling and education to biological parents, children and placement providers in an effort to achieve a permanent plan for the child; position requires close working relationships with schools, community agencies, court system as well as state agencies will be necessary in providing social work and foster care case management services; court testimony and preparation of court reports is a specific job duty as well as strict time management skills and paperwork skills.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a masters degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; or bachelors degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); or a bachelors degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; or a masters degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelors degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Prior Social Services work is a plus as well as strong knowledge of agency programs and community resources and to have good working knowledge and skills in the use of a personal computer. Must have a valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to client’s homes. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
